Bankruptcy Notices on Debtors

Policy Owner: Student Business Services
Effective Date: 9/15/94

All notices received by the University relating to bankruptcy proceedings (from individuals, businesses or the court) should be forwarded to Student Business Services, Collection Department. Forwarding of bankruptcy notices should not be delayed due to time elements involved. This office handles the canvassing and coordination of debts on all bankruptcy proceedings for the campus.

  1. Responsibility
  2. The campus Bankruptcy Coordinator is responsible for filing claims, distribution of dividends and court actions as required. The Bankruptcy Coordinator acts as the liaison on bankruptcy issues between the campus and General Counsel form the Regents.

    Questions on bankruptcy notices should be referred to the campus Collection Department, extension 3205.
